The ultimate team goal and something that we had been training on put in to practice at the first opportunity.

A goal within 8 seconds of the match starting, without the opposition touching the ball! Something we are unlikely to see ever again which makes it all the better.

Chilaka started play feeding Ogwuru inside the centre circle. He lifted his head and seen Ross Clark making a run down the left side and clipped a diagonal ball out which Clark just managed to stretch out a toe to and bring down dead. He committed his marker out wide and sold him with a quick change of pace, cutting in and crossing high into the back post area where Boyle had made a charging run towards from kick-off & he rose above the keeper to head the ball into the back of the net.

A goal so quick the Old Boys missed it!

It’s fitting the lads voted this their goal of the season and emphasizes their team attitude. Usually it’s a 30 yard screamer that wins this award but the boys recognised the team effort involved.
